A proudly independent five-star hotel in the heart of prestigious Mayfair, The Athenaeum exudes spirited luxury with a nod to Art Deco roots. With the West End, designer-lined Bond Street and Buckingham Palace all just a stroll away, this is an enviable London location to call ‘home’ for a while. Rooms and suites come with all of life’s luxuries and views over Green Park or the character-filled streets of Mayfair. Residences are the hotel’s contemporary serviced apartments, located in the Victorian townhouses beside the hotel. Feeling peckish? Dining comes courtesy of the hotel’s restaurant, 116 at The Athenaeum, offering an informal setting for breakfast, lunch, dinner and an award-winning afternoon tea. Elsewhere in the hotel you’ll find The Bar, The Spa, the 24-hour gym and the tenth-floor residents’ lounge, The View.

The Athenaeum’s existing commitments to health and safety and responsibility placed it in a good starting position when it came to making things Covid-safe. Thermal imaging is used to take temperatures of all arrivals and staff, while directional signage and hand sanitisers ensure a safe transition from reception to room, restaurant to bar, room to spa, etc. Luggage is sanitised on arrival, and every bedroom comes stocked with complimentary hand gel, and masks are mandatory in all of the hotel’s public spaces. The rooms each have a pair of robot hoovers always on standby, keeping everything in good shape until housekeeping performs a deep clean and resets every room with a thorough Ozone generator cleanse.

The fabulous 116 at the Atheneum restaurant has carried on throughout the pandemic, providing food to the local community during the lockdown, and fully reopening to provide their trademark cuisine of seasonal British ingredients crafted with a loving international nod, alongside the iconic afternoon tea… that if you prefer can be served across the road in the elegant gardens of Green Park.

The Athenaeum’s already exemplary service has been further personalised to enhance each stay, with staff putting in extra effort to not just make guests feel safe and cared for but also just a little bit extra-special.
